Timothy
Description
Timothy (phleum pratense) is used in the racehorse industry, as well as the dairy industry and is considered a premium product. It is relatively high in fiber, especially when cut late which dairies attribute to achieving improved milk production. Many animal care experts recommend it due to its seeming ease on various animals’ digestive systems and its promotion of bowel regularity.

Harvesting and Yields
The primary area for Timothy on the West Coast is Central Washington, including Ellensburg. Our partners are mostly family-owned operations. Timothy is a seeded crop with first cutting occurring around mid-June to July, with second cutting in late summer or early fall.
